Kormakitis ( Cypriot Maronite Kormakitis; Turkish: Kormacit / Korucam ) a small Village in Cyprus. Kormakitis is one of the four traditionally Maronite villages in Cyprus, the other three being Asomatos, Ayia Marina, and Karpascia. The Maronites of Kormakitis traditionally speak their own unique variety of Arabic, called called Cypriot Maronite Arabic (CMA) in addition to Greek and recently Turkish. Cape Kormakitis is named after the village.

Lambousa Kingdom of Antique Treasures

A morning walking tour of Lambousa and its historical sites then visit Lapta village historical churches and Houses.

According to Historians Lambousa was built in 1300 BC by Hellenes, (Greeks) and more specifically from Praksandros coming aconia in Peloponese Greece. Praksandros and Kifeas are also,the founders of the town of Kyrenia. Lambousa was gaining glory and wealth since the beginning but especially during the times of Alexander the Great, Greek Commander of the Hellenes from the kingdom of Macedonia (330 BC) and beyond.

Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine (Greek) eras proved to be the most prosperous and Lamousa became an important administrative city with a Gymnasium, a semi – cyclical Greek Theatre, public buildings, and dockyards, as well as harbour for merchant shipping between Greece and the Roman provinces. Lambousa’s Ancient Greek , and then Byzantine (Greek) name means means the ‘Shining’. Unfortunately, Lambousa was destroyed in the 17th century during Arab raids. The town wall, the rock graves, which have been the popular hunts of treasure seekers, and served as stone quarries, and the fish tanks are among the ruins of the Roman period which have survived to the present day.

Originally a fishing village, Famagusta rapidly evolved and was formerly a major commercial centre of trade between east and west. From the Lusignans who crowned their Kings in the beautiful St. Nicholas Cathedral, to the Ottomans Who,later converted it to a mosque, each century has left its mark on Famagusta.

The Old City’s narrow streets are full of small shops, where locals display there wares from fine examples of silver, copper, and ceramic work, to,fresh fruit and vegetables, not to mention the finest pastries and lokum (Turkish Delight) on the island. The area is also famous for its sandy Caribbean like beaches.

In this tour you will visit the Roman site of Salamis Ruins, followed by a stop at St. Barnabas Monastery to see 3D Icons. Then drive to Famagusta for Lunch at a local restaurant.
After Lunch, we will visit the famous deserted city Varosha (known as Maraş in TURKISH) the ghost city which has been closed to habitance since 1974. You will continue with your tour by visiting Famagusta City Walls and famous Othello Tower, followed by a visit to St. Nicholas Cathedral, and a trip to the Local Market, return back to hotel.

Travel to Guzelyurt to visit farmers food market, Guzelyurt museum, St. Mamas Monastery and Soli Ruins (. Roman Theatre and Basilica ) followed by Lunch at a sea side restaurant. After Lunch continue further west with a visit to Vouni palace and old Turkish town Lefke before returning back to your hotel in Kyrenia.
